CNC Field Service Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled CNC Field Service Engineer to lead full machine prove‑out from initial power‑up through production acceptance. You will be responsible for software loading, parameter configuration, system initialization and ensuring every machine meets performance, safety and customer acceptance criteria.

Key responsibilities

• Lead CNC machine commissioning from start‑up to final handover.
• Load software, configure parameters and perform full system initialization.
• Troubleshoot multi‑axis motion systems (open and closed loop) and execute servo tuning and axis compensation.
• Diagnose and resolve wiring, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues.
• Interpret electrical and fluid schematics and apply corrective actions.
• Provide field service and warranty support to maintain machine performance and customer satisfaction.
• Train junior systems engineers and support customer handover processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to own commissioning efforts with minimal supervision.
• Strong experience with programming and ladder‑logic troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits.
• Ability to interpret electrical and fluid schematics.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 75%).

Required skills

• CNC machine commissioning and parameter optimization.
• Multi‑axis motion troubleshooting and servo drive tuning.
• Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic diagnostics.
• Use of diagnostic tools such as multimeters.
• Experience with CNC/PLC platforms (Siemens, Fanuc, Beckhoff or similar).
• Programming and ladder‑logic troubleshooting.
