Collections and Recovery Supervisor

About the role

The Collections and Recovery Supervisor will lead the efficient and ethical collection of overdue debts while preserving positive customer relationships. This role also oversees repossession logistics and provides recovery intelligence to underwriting.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve collection targets for assigned branches/portfolio and keep portfolio at risk (PAR) below thresholds.
• Follow the Debt Recovery Cycle and company policy, providing proactive advice to clients to avoid delinquency.
• Manage relationships with collection agencies, investigators, auctioneers, yards and valuers.
• Coordinate asset liquidation and repossession, including car‑track monitoring and auction processes.
• Engage external advocates for legal escalations, monitor court proceedings and ensure timely updates.
• Generate regular collection and repossession progress reports and feed recovery trends back to underwriting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in collections, debt recovery or asset‑finance recovery, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Persuasive, assertive communication, composure under pressure and high ethical standards.
• Willingness to travel for site visits.
