Commercial and Operations Lead

About the role

A client of Reach Recruit, which delivers integrated technology, smart-building and energy infrastructure across hospitality, healthcare, corporate, education, aviation and real estate sectors, is looking for a Commercial and Operations Lead based in Nairobi. The role covers the commercial pipeline, internal operations and project delivery, and supports business development and key client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the commercial pipeline, proposals, pricing, contracts and client follow-ups, and ensure opportunities move smoothly from sales and presales into delivery.
• Track commercial commitments, margins, variations, invoicing and collections, and support business development and key client relationships.
• Translate management priorities into clear actions, owners and deadlines, and improve workflows across sales, procurement, finance, projects and after-sales support.
• Lead weekly operational and project review meetings and ensure internal controls, approvals and reporting are followed.
• Oversee active projects, including timelines, budgets, resources and deliverables, and coordinate technical, procurement, logistics, finance and site teams.
• Identify delivery risks early, ensure proper documentation, reporting, handover and closure, and hold teams accountable for agreed deliverables and timelines.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and performance management alongside HR, and resolve coordination gaps between departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
• At least seven years' experience in operations, commercial management or project delivery.
• Experience in ICT infrastructure, ELV systems, construction, engineering or systems integration strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of project costing, contracts, procurement and commercial risk.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple teams and projects; commercially astute, organised and able to hold teams accountable.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
