Communications Coordinator – Nairobi

About the role

Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) is seeking a Communications Coordinator to amplify its voice across East Africa. Based in the Nairobi office, you will work closely with programme managers on the ground and the Communications Manager in Geneva to raise the profile of LAW’s human‑rights work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an activity calendar for programmes in Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan, covering social media, website updates, press releases, events and awards.
• Produce high‑quality, survivor‑centred content for social media, newsletters, reports and external publications.
• Monitor media coverage, track communication indicators and evaluate the impact of campaigns.
• Coordinate with regional partners, hub offices and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
• Support the preparation of briefing notes, policy papers and advocacy materials.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Kenya.
• Experience in communications, public relations or media within the non‑profit or human‑rights sector.
• Strong writing and storytelling abilities, with a focus on gender‑competent and trauma‑informed narratives.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple countries and time zones.
