Communications Support Officer

About the role

The Communications Support Officer will create and manage visual and multimedia content for World Vision Sudan, supporting the organisation's mission to help vulnerable children. Based in Nairobi, the role works closely with field teams across Sudan to ensure timely, high‑quality communications.

Key responsibilities

• Design visual materials for digital and print, including social media graphics, infographics, donor updates and campaign assets.
• Edit photos and video footage into short‑form content for social media, websites and donor reporting.
• Apply World Vision branding guidelines consistently across all outputs.
• Maintain a structured digital asset library with proper naming, metadata and consent documentation.
• Synchronise and prioritise field‑generated content, tracking submissions against a content calendar.
• Support scheduling and posting of approved content on World Vision Sudan’s digital channels.
• Respond to ad‑hoc requests from the Communications Manager and assist during high‑visibility events.
• Travel to the field when needed to collect and support content creation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia, Digital Communications, Journalism or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in graphic design, multimedia production or digital content management, preferably in an NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Experience managing large volumes of field‑sourced content and working with remote teams is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro.
• Ability to use Canva or equivalent design/video editing tools.
• Strong understanding of digital asset management and metadata standards.
