Community Relations Manager

About the role

The Community Relations Manager will lead and coordinate community engagement, stakeholder management and social impact initiatives for Tatu City Limited. The role also oversees the Tatu City Labour Desk and local workforce development programmes, ensuring harmonious coexistence with surrounding communities and sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies aligned with the company’s vision.
• Build and maintain relationships with local residents, community groups, county officials, chiefs, youth organisations, schools and NGOs.
• Act as the primary liaison between Tatu City Limited and surrounding communities, coordinating forums, barazas and sensitisation meetings.
• Monitor community sentiment, report emerging issues and support conflict‑resolution and grievance management.
• Support CSR initiatives in partnership with the CSR Officer and prepare regular impact reports.
• Provide strategic oversight of the Tatu City Labour Desk, supervising the Labour Desk Administrator.
• Maintain accurate records of skilled, semi‑skilled and unskilled labourers, track employment outcomes and ensure contractor compliance with local hiring commitments.
• Oversee the Tatu City Training Academy, conduct labour market analyses and monitor graduate placement within projects.
• Manage casual labour requirements and communicate employment opportunities to the community.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community engagement and stakeholder management.
• Background in CSR or social impact programmes.
• Experience overseeing labour‑related functions, workforce development or training initiatives.
• Strong communication and mediation skills.
• Ability to produce analytical reports on community sentiment and employment metrics.
