Compliance & Conduct Manager

About the role

The Compliance & Conduct Manager will lead the execution and quality of regulatory compliance activities at Equity Bank. This role ensures that regulatory obligations are managed, changes are tracked, and issues are remediated across the bank’s business units.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and alignment of regulatory compliance and conduct programmes with applicable regulations, internal frameworks and Group standards.
• Drive operationalisation of compliance and conduct frameworks across business units, ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory developments, conduct impact assessments and coordinate with stakeholders to identify implications for the bank.
• Provide technical support on regulatory interpretation, review change impact assessments and contribute to validation processes.
• Maintain and enhance the Regulatory Obligations Register, mapping requirements to controls with business partners.
• Identify, assess and escalate compliance breaches, policy exceptions and risk tolerance breaches, ensuring proper investigation and closure.
• Prepare and review responses to regulatory requests, inspections and submissions, ensuring quality and completeness.
• Support regulatory engagement activities and coordinate related efforts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in regulatory compliance or conduct within the financial services sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to assess regulatory impacts.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple compliance initiatives.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with regulators and internal stakeholders.
