Compliance Technology & Data Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Compliance Technology & Data Officer to lead the integration of compliance, risk, data and engineering at Tuma, a regulated international payments company. The role focuses on building automated compliance operations, enhancing fraud detection and supporting regulatory reporting across our cross‑border payment ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage onboarding workflows for individuals and corporates, ensuring KYC/KYB compliance.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence on high‑risk accounts and monitor ongoing transactions for AML alerts.
• Screen customers against global sanctions, PEP and adverse media watchlists.
• Prepare SAR/STR reports and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Continuously scan regulatory developments and translate changes into actionable guidance for the business.
• Develop and deliver internal AML/CFT training and maintain the training log.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and operations to automate compliance controls and improve onboarding journeys.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations and fintech compliance best practices.
• Experience working in fast‑moving fintech or payments environments.
• Ability to analyse complex corporate structures and assess source of wealth.
• Proven track record of implementing automated compliance solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to convey regulatory changes to non‑technical teams.
