Consultant – Higher Education Access for Refugee Youth (Kenya)

About the role
The World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is seeking a consultant to lead the “University Now” initiative in Nairobi. The role will support refugee‑led organisations (RLOs) in expanding access to higher education for displaced young people across Kenya.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement outreach models that connect refugee and displaced youth with higher‑education opportunities.
- Lead a cohort of urban‑based RLOs, providing technical assistance and capacity‑building.
- Coordinate with the Mastercard Foundation, DREEM project partners, and higher‑education institutions.
- Prepare progress reports for the DREEM Higher Education Inclusion Manager and monitor project impact.
- Contribute to scaling the “University Now” model to additional Kenyan urban centres.
Required profile
- Experience working on higher‑education inclusion or refugee‑focused programmes in Kenya.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with RLOs and manage multi‑stakeholder projects.
- Understanding of Kenyan higher‑education landscape and scholarship pathways.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
