Consultant Pediatrician (Child Health Specialist)

About the role

The Mini Group is seeking a qualified Consultant Pediatrician to join its child health team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves delivering high‑quality outpatient care to newborns, infants, children and adolescents while adhering to Kenyan Ministry of Health protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical examinations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic paediatric conditions.
• Document comprehensive medical and family histories and develop individualized care pathways.
• Provide evidence‑based treatment in line with IMCI guidelines, KMPDC standards and the Essential Medicines List.
• Identify paediatric red flags, stabilise patients and coordinate timely referrals to external facilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, laboratory, nutrition and other specialists.

Required profile

• MBChB (or equivalent) and Master of Medicine in Paediatrics & Child Health recognised by KMPDC.
• Valid specialist practising licence and professional indemnity insurance.
• 3–5 years of experience as a specialist paediatrician in a busy outpatient or multispecialty centre.
• Demonstrated use of Hospital Management Information Systems, Electronic Health Records and computerized ordering modules.
