Consultant Trainer – Mining Engineering

About the role

The Indepth Research Institute (IRES) is seeking an experienced Consultant Trainer in Mining Engineering to deliver technical training, professional development programmes, workshops and consultancy assignments in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver technical training programmes covering mining engineering, mine planning, mineral extraction and processing.
• Develop training materials, case studies, presentations and practical exercises.
• Facilitate workshops, seminars and professional learning sessions, translating complex technical concepts into practical learning.
• Provide technical input for training proposals, curricula and consultancy assignments, and keep content current with industry standards.
• Assess participant learning, give constructive feedback and act as a subject‑matter expert on mining safety and risk management.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in mining engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Mining and Mineral Engineering; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Registered and licensed by the Engineers Board of Kenya and member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya.
• Demonstrated experience in professional training, facilitation and technical presentations.
