Controller – Accounts Receivable

About the role

The Controller – Accounts Receivable will own the end‑to‑end process of receivables, credit control and revenue assurance. You will ensure every sale is accurately recorded from order to cash, protecting the company’s cash flow and minimizing revenue leakage.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the customer receivables ledger, ensuring balances are accurate, reconciled and fully supported.
• Prepare and monitor ageing reports, overdue balances, credit limits and exposure.
• Follow up overdue accounts with sales and commercial teams and recommend credit actions or order blocks.
• Reconcile customer receipts (M‑Pay, cash, bank) and resolve unallocated payments.
• Perform daily route‑wise reconciliation of stock, sales and collections, matching SAP data with route‑sale machines, invoices and credit notes.
• Monitor POD compliance and reconcile delivery, PGI, invoicing and customer ledgers.
• Identify and report revenue leakage such as dispatched goods not invoiced, missing PODs, unrecorded returns or customer deductions.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly AR, ageing, collection, credit risk and revenue assurance reports.
• Collaborate with SAP/IT, sales, distribution, warehouse and logistics to strengthen controls and resolve system gaps.
• Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of control issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Professional qualification – CPA(K), ACCA, Chartered Accountant or Certified Credit Professional.
• 7‑10 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, credit control, FMCG, distribution or manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP, preferably FI/SD integration.
