About the role
The Controllership Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger structure, recording financial transactions, preparing IFRS‑compliant financial statements, and ensuring internal controls and procedures are adhered to in accordance with Deloitte standards.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger integrity, process journal entries, monitor discrepancies, oversee fixed‑asset accounting and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register to the General Ledger.
- Support period‑end and year‑end accounting activities, prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, statutory financial statements and manage the financial close calendar.
- Manage statutory filings, coordinate audits with regulatory bodies, handle staff debtor accounts and ensure compliance with internal policies and controls.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
- High standards of professional ethics and integrity.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of IFRS.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and SAGE.
