Controls Engineer – Security & Automation Systems

About the role

Join the team as a Controls Engineer responsible for developing and integrating advanced security and automation systems for government and industrial projects. You will work from planning through implementation, ensuring seamless operation of control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop integrations that connect diverse security, video, intercom and access control platforms.
• Program PLCs (e.g., Schneider M251, Omron NX, Allen Bradley) and create HMI/SCADA interfaces using Aveva Wonderware InTouch.
• Analyze, design, code and implement secure communications using BACnet, APIs and SDKs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize system design and deployment.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience programming or troubleshooting PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in electrical engineering, automation or security technology.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, panel layout and control networks; AutoCAD experience a plus.
• Proficiency in IP networking, serial communications and system integration.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex technical problems and communicate effectively.
• Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.

• VB.NET, C#, Python programming.
• PLC programming on Schneider M251, Omron NX, Allen Bradley.
• Aveva Wonderware InTouch HMI/SCADA development.
• Electrical schematics and panel layout design.
• AutoCAD (optional).
• IP networking and serial communications.
• BACnet, API and SDK integration.
