Crane Operator / Rigger for US Navy Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Crane Operator / Rigger to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves moving heavy loads safely, performing equipment inspections, and working closely with the customer to ensure mission‑critical material handling.

Key responsibilities

• Move materials and mobile crane to designated locations in a safe, efficient manner.
• Inspect, select, and configure cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles, and sheaves based on load weight and size.
• Conduct site surveys, task analyses, and operator‑level maintenance on crane and rigging components.
• Perform lift calculations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Interact directly with the customer to coordinate material movements.
• Complete any additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English.
• Valid passport for at least one year and ability to obtain required visas.
• Pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a crane rigger.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
