Crane Operator / Rigger (NGIS Warehouse Specialist)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Crane Operator / Rigger to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves moving materials safely, performing inspections, and configuring rigging equipment according to load requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Move materials and mobile crane to various locations in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Inspect and perform operator‑level maintenance on cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, shackles and sheaves.
• Select and configure rigging components based on weight and size of the load.
• Conduct site surveys, task analysis and lift calculations.
• Interact closely with the customer to coordinate material movements.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including travel to remote or adverse environments.

Required profile

• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a crane rigger.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 75 lb.
• Willingness to work in remote, potentially uncomfortable conditions.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
