Credit Controller – Kenya

About the role

The Credit Controller will manage a portfolio of customer accounts in Kenya, ensuring compliance with the company’s credit policy and timely collection of payments. The role involves monitoring debtor balances, reconciling receivables, and supporting the finance team with accurate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor ageing of client accounts and apply collection treatment plans according to policy.
• Chase overdue invoices, allocate receipts, and ensure remittance advice accompanies payments.
• Prepare weekly status reports for debtor review meetings and flag any signs of financial distress.
• Reconcile receivable balances to the general ledger each month and explain variances.
• Coordinate with sales, operations, and customer service to resolve invoice disputes and ensure accurate billing.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, banks, and collection agencies as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or financial management.
• Proven track record in managing collections and credit risk.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
