About the role
The Customer Service Representative will be the first point of contact for patients calling Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates. Working in a fast‑paced medical office, you will schedule appointments, verify insurance, and provide courteous support to ensure a smooth patient experience.
Key responsibilities
- Handle a high volume of inbound calls and schedule patient appointments following established protocols.
- Accurately enter patient information into the scheduling system and conduct insurance verification.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service and resolve or appropriately escalate patient inquiries.
- Route calls to the correct departments and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent telephone etiquette.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain high accuracy in a dynamic environment.
- Preferred: at least 6 months of clerical or call‑center experience, familiarity with physician practice workflows, and knowledge of medical terminology.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
What we offer
- Competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.30 to $22.87 based on experience and education.
- Full‑time schedule (Monday‑Friday, 8:30 AM‑5 PM) with opportunities for growth within a reputable healthcare organization.
