Data Clerk – Laboratory Data Management

About the role

The Data Clerk will provide accurate, timely and secure data and documentation support for KNEQAS proficiency testing panel production and scheme operations. This on‑site role ensures traceable production records, participant enrolment, panel distribution tracking and data quality checks.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and reconcile data from approved PT production worksheets, maintaining links between scheme, round, batch and item identifiers.
• Maintain verified participant and facility records, prepare enrolment lists and round trackers, and flag duplicate or inconsistent entries.
• Prepare dispatch lists, reconcile participant identifiers and PT item codes, and maintain dispatch and receipt trackers.
• Enter authorized paper submissions, verify completeness and consistency, and follow up missing or incomplete submissions.
• Prepare validated summaries of production, dispatch, participation and result submissions for supervisor review.

Required profile

• Diploma in biological sciences or a related field; a bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
• At least one year of data management experience in a busy laboratory environment.
• Ability to use databases, spreadsheets and electronic records; familiarity with KNEQAS electronic PT systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of data verification, confidentiality, document control and laboratory safety.
