Data Engineer Internship – 3-Month, Onsite

About the role

Join Tesla as a Data Engineer Intern for a three‑month, full‑time, on‑site experience. You will work closely with engineers and mentors to analyze data, build pipelines, and deliver insights that improve production quality and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process data from primary and secondary sources.
• Develop end‑to‑end analyses, from requirement gathering to modeling and reporting.
• Interpret statistical results and create dashboards or reports to communicate findings.
• Identify trends in complex data sets and propose actionable improvements.
• Maintain and enhance databases and data systems for operational and exploratory analysis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to drive data‑system improvements.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, graduating between 2025‑2026.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week on‑site for a minimum of 12 weeks.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Willingness to collaborate across engineering teams while being able to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, Go, C/C++, Ruby, or SQL.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or MS SQL.
• Understanding of fundamental computer‑science concepts and clean coding practices.
• Nice‑to‑have exposure to AirFlow, Splunk, Kafka, or Spark.
