Database and Applications Administrator (Entry Level)

About the role

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is recruiting a Database and Applications Administrator for its headquarters, within the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Enterprise Solution Development and Administration. The post reports to the Senior Assistant Director, ICT. The role covers designing, developing and implementing software application systems and database systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures relating to ICT database systems and applications, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, statutes and circulars.
• Implement software and applications in the Authority.
• Implement a database architecture that meets the Authority's requirements.
• Maintain data integrity and security, and maintain and secure database systems and applications.
• Implement and maintain Database Management Systems (DBMS).
• Provide technical support for database systems and applications.
• Update all records in the division and consolidate data for internal and external reports.
• Implement risk mitigation measures and develop individual work plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology, Information and Communication Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Professional certification in any two of: CCNA, MCSA and a certificate in ethical hacking.
