Database Support Assistant (Entry Level)

About the role

Under the supervision of the MEL Database Manager, the Database Support Assistant will ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of IRS campaign data, supporting daily database operations and synchronization with DHIS2.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily duplicate reports in DHIS2, analyse outputs and share lists with field teams for resolution.
• Enter collected data from paper forms into the central database and generate required reports for MEL staff.
• Conduct regular data verification, cleaning and outlier checks, updating missing fields such as GPS coordinates.
• Maintain daily tracking of data submissions per spray operator and cross‑verify team leader reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience (at least 1 year in IRS is an advantage).
• Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, IT, Data Science or related field, or a diploma with equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently under pressure.

Required skills

• Proven experience in data entry, cleaning and database management.
• Hands‑on experience with DHIS2 (certification preferred).
• Familiarity with mobile data collection platforms such as ODK or Kobo Collect.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for large‑dataset manipulation.
