Digital Identity Lead – Frontier Technologies Foundations

About the role

The Digital Identity Lead is a high‑visibility position that bridges technical architecture and commercial origination. You will own the Digital Identity (DID) service line, ensuring that national‑scale identity systems are designed, governed, and rolled out in line with broader data and cybersecurity foundations.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage relationships with the World Bank, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and regional development banks to generate a pipeline of DID projects and related data and cybersecurity engagements.
• Structure and capture high‑value business opportunities, leading proposal development for donor‑funded tenders.
• Act as the primary interface between the practice and global identity, data and digital government communities.
• Serve as the chief subject‑matter expert on national digital ID architecture, governance and rollout strategies.
• Embed international standards such as World Bank ID4D, ID4Africa and open‑source stacks like MOSIP into client roadmaps.
• Advise clients on transitioning toward Decentralised Identity ecosystems and related cryptographic trust frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience designing or implementing national‑scale digital identity architectures.
• Strong global network within development finance institutions and foundations.
• Ability to contribute technical input to data‑at‑societal‑scale and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Strategic mindset for business origination and pipeline development.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Decentralised Identity (DID) concepts and frameworks.
• Experience with open‑source digital ID platforms such as MOSIP.
• Understanding of PKI and cryptographic trust frameworks.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust security design principles.
