The role reports to the Programme Manager, Digital Futures, Kenya.

The contract is for individual consultants (2 trainers per campus) across four locations: NITA Nairobi, NITA Athi River, NITA Mombasa and NITA Kisumu. Duration is 9 months (22 training days per month), starting around 1 March 2027. Trainers are engaged in one or more technical areas such as software development, data analysis and visualisation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence or other market-relevant digital disciplines.

Key responsibilities

  • Promote inclusive and accessible learning environments.
  • Attend quarterly planning meetings in the Sightsavers Nairobi office.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant technical field.
  • Professional experience in the training area and experience delivering practical training to adults, graduates or early-career professionals.
  • Experience designing learning materials, practical exercises and assessments.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; fluency in Kiswahili or other local languages is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting persons with disabilities or applying inclusive learning approaches is highly desirable.
  • Pre-engagement background checks (such as police or criminal record checks) are required before engagement.

Required skills

  • Excellent communication, facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Experience creating accessible training materials and supporting diverse learner groups.
  • Relevant industry certifications where applicable.

To apply, candidates submit their CV, examples of previous accessible training materials, academic certificates and complete the online Expression of Interest form, which includes a financial and technical proposal. Interviews are expected from January 2027 onwards, and the closing date is 15 November 2026.
