Director, Impact Intelligence

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Director of Impact Intelligence to lead a global team that places evidence‑based learning at the heart of its programmes for children. The role combines strategic vision with operational oversight across research, evaluation, ethics, economic analysis and monitoring, ensuring data‑driven decisions drive scalable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern a movement‑wide evidence and learning strategy aligned with the organization’s global theory of change.
• Provide strategic leadership for four core units – Insights & Learning, Research & Evaluation, Ethics & Evidence Generation, and Economic Evaluation – and coordinate with the MEAL unit.
• Establish governance structures, roles and expectations for evidence use, learning and accountability across the organization.
• Champion a culture where impact intelligence is resourced, rewarded and integrated into decision‑making.
• Oversee design and implementation of connected impact intelligence systems that reduce duplication and improve data quality.
• Manage a global team of 24 direct and indirect reports, fostering collaboration and high performance.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in evidence generation, evaluation, or data‑driven learning within a large, complex organization.
• Deep understanding of ethical standards, economic evaluation, and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) frameworks.
• Track record of influencing strategic decisions through rigorous data and impact analysis.
• Ability to work across multiple geographic locations and cultures.
