Director of Information, Communication & Technology (ICT)

About the role

The Director of ICT provides strategic leadership and enterprise‑wide oversight of information and communication technology, ensuring that ICT initiatives drive digital health impact, organisational agility, and data‑driven decision‑making across Amref Health Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the organisation’s ICT strategy, aligning it with Amref’s mission and business objectives.
• Lead digital transformation, AI, automation and data initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Oversee enterprise and network architecture, cloud and data platforms, cybersecurity, ICT service management and ERP solutions.
• Develop and enforce ICT policies, standards and compliance with international data‑privacy regulations such as GDPR.
• Manage the ICT budget, vendor contracts, cloud cost governance and ensure cost‑optimisation.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing ICT team and provide ICT support to country programmes and partner offices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 12+ years of relevant experience, including 8+ years in management and at least 2 years at senior management level in a similar organisation.
• Proven ability to lead digital transformation, AI adoption and innovation across large, multi‑country operations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate with executives, technical teams and cross‑functional partners.
