Driver III – Transport Services

About the role

The Mawego Technical Training Institute is seeking a reliable Driver III to operate its vehicles safely and efficiently. The role involves transporting passengers and goods, performing basic vehicle maintenance, and ensuring compliance with road safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive assigned vehicles on scheduled routes and ad‑hoc trips.
• Detect and report common mechanical faults; carry out minor repairs.
• Maintain accurate work tickets and vehicle logs.
• Ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and the vehicle both on and off the road.
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.

Required profile

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D or equivalent.
• Valid Kenyan driving licence free from endorsements, covering required vehicle classes.
• Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade II.
• First‑Aid Certificate (minimum one‑week course) from a recognized institution.
• Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police.
• Minimum four (4) years of active driving experience.
• Age 45 years or below and solid knowledge of the Highway Code.

Required skills

• Driving licence Class B, C, E – light and heavy commercial vehicles.
• Understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
• Basic vehicle maintenance and repair.
