EHS Officer

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating across the East African region (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan). On behalf of its client, it is recruiting a competent, skilled and experienced EHS Officer to work in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead training, implementation and enforcement of client and Q-Sourcing EHS requirements
• Develop risk assessments for routine jobs and ensure risks are mitigated; perform job safety analyses for non-routine jobs
• Provide quality PPE as identified in risk assessments
• Develop training materials, train staff, advise and monitor safe working procedures
• Carry out regular facility inspections and close out identified safety gaps
• Ensure timely medical examinations, inductions and statutory trainings, and inspection and certification of equipment
• Investigate incidents when they occur and maintain accurate EHS documentation
• Prepare monthly and on-demand EHS reports

Required profile

• Diploma in occupational health and safety; a degree holder with relevant EHS training certification is also acceptable
• At least 3 years of experience as an EHS supervisor in a busy manufacturing environment
• Detail-oriented and highly safety-conscious, able to work under pressure
• Able to handle more than one client
