Electrical Technician

About the role

E‑Safiri is an early‑stage start‑up building solar‑powered and grid‑connected charging stations for two‑ and three‑wheelers across Africa. The Electrical Technician will work primarily in the field, travelling to operational hubs and project sites in Kenya to install, inspect, operate and maintain the company’s electrical infrastructure supporting Battery‑as‑a‑Service, commercial ice‑making, renewable energy and related operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems and equipment according to approved schedules.
• Inspect installations, identify faults, safety hazards and report findings to the Electrical Engineer.
• Repair or replace defective components, maintain tools and testing instruments, and keep work areas organized.
• Install, inspect and maintain battery charging equipment, distribution boards, protection devices and backup power systems.
• Monitor charger performance, troubleshoot faults affecting battery swapping and charging operations.
• Assist in the installation, inspection and maintenance of solar PV, hybrid inverter and battery energy storage systems.
• Maintain wiring, lighting, power outlets, earthing systems and electrical panels across company facilities.

Required profile

• Field‑based professional comfortable with frequent travel across Kenya.
• Works under the guidance of an Electrical Engineer and follows company safety and quality standards.
• Ability to keep accurate maintenance records and report issues promptly.
