Electrician - Service

About the role

SPATCO Energy Solutions, which builds fueling and charging stations for retail, commercial, industrial and government customers, is hiring an energetic Electrician for its service team. The electrician reads blueprints and electrical diagrams, uses hand and power tools and diagnostic instruments to keep electrical systems working properly.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry with hand and power tools.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults using testing equipment such as ohm meters, voltmeters, amp probes and meggers.
• Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers.
• Inspect electrical systems and components for compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Advise management, customers and colleagues on hazards and on when systems are safe to operate.
• Assist the estimator with material take-offs, material costs and labour allowances.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 7 years of electrician experience, including 5 years in commercial work and at least 1 year as a journeyman electrician.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening.
• Knowledge of electrician standards and codes.
• Ability to work overtime and be on call, lift 75-100 lbs, work outdoors in all weather and follow company procedures.

Required skills

• Reading blueprints and electrical diagrams showing circuits, outlets and equipment.
• Use of conduit benders, ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners and cable testers.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
