Emergency Specialist – Cash Based Assistance Beneficiary Data (P-3)

About the role

The position is part of UNICEF’s Global Risk Management Cash Assistance Hub in Nairobi, supporting the delivery of cash‑based assistance to children and families affected by emergencies. Reporting to the Emergency Specialist – Beneficiary Data, the role focuses on managing personal data of payment recipients and front‑line workers.

Key responsibilities

• Support regional and country offices in managing payment recipients' personal data, ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of personal data management tools for front‑line workers receiving cash incentives.
• Provide remote technical assistance and guidance to field teams, coordinating closely with HQ and regional partners.
• Contribute to raising UNICEF’s profile on data protection, collection, processing, storage, and exchange for cash assistance programmes.
• Collaborate with the Global Programme Division to align data management practices with broader policy and strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian cash‑based assistance or beneficiary data management.
• Strong understanding of data protection principles and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams across regions.
• Excellent communication skills for remote support and stakeholder engagement.
