Entry‑Level Internships and Open Roles at Ujima Foundation

About the role

Ujima Foundation, a sustainable urban development organisation, is offering a range of entry‑level internships and employment positions across Kisumu and Nakuru. The roles support finance, training, social work, conservation, media, hospitality, maintenance and monitoring functions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, manage transactions and assist with budgeting (Finance & Admin).
• Deliver youth employability sessions on CV writing, interview preparation and workplace conduct (Employability Skills Trainer).
• Support case management, assessments, referrals and follow‑up for vulnerable families (Social Worker).
• Lead guided nature walks and share conservation knowledge (Nature Walk Guide).
• Create and manage social media content to grow online presence (Social Media Marketer).
• Provide food and beverage service while upholding hygiene standards (Food & Beverage Service).
• Maintain grounds, perform landscaping and minor repairs (Grounds & General Maintenance).
• Lead monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for programmes (MEAL Officer).

Required profile

• Motivated individuals with a passion for community development and youth empowerment.
• Ability to work onsite in Kisumu or Nakuru for a period of 3–6 months.

Required skills

• Basic bookkeeping or financial record‑keeping skills.
• Strong communication and facilitation abilities for training sessions.
• Experience or interest in social work, case management or community outreach.
• Knowledge of conservation topics and ability to guide nature walks.
• Social media content creation and storytelling.
• Customer service skills for food & beverage roles.
• General maintenance and landscaping aptitude.
• Understanding of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning processes.
