About the role

CBX Solutions is seeking an Estimator to interpret opening requirements and develop accurate cost estimates for architectural door and hardware projects. The role involves close collaboration with contractors, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure competitive and precise bids.

Key responsibilities

• Review contract documents, plans, specifications, and addenda to define project scope.
• Work directly with general contractors during hard‑bid processes and evaluate hardware/manufacturer packages.
• Interpret labor costs, organize project portions, and identify typical opening or hardware sets.
• Read and analyze building plans, summarize door openings, and compare actual versus estimated materials.
• Enter data into the Comsense system, price jobs using computer cost files, and perform complete door and hardware takeoffs.
• Maintain project schedules, note bid deadlines, and fulfill any additional duties assigned.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in construction or building‑material estimating.
• Strong mathematical accuracy and ability to pass background and drug screenings.

Required skills

• Blueprint/plan reading and specification interpretation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using estimating software, specifically the Comsense system.
