Events Associate

About the role

Amref Health Africa is seeking a short‑term Events Associate to support the planning, coordination and delivery of the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC) 2027 in Kigali, Rwanda. The role will focus on conference administration, stakeholder coordination, speaker and delegate support, logistics and event operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of AHAIC 2027, including Organising Committee and workstream meetings.
• Maintain conference workplans, timelines, trackers, databases and reporting tools.
• Manage speaker invitations, confirmations, documentation and scheduling.
• Coordinate stakeholder invitations, RSVP tracking and follow‑up communications.
• Provide VIP delegate support throughout the conference lifecycle.
• Assist with delegate registration, enquiries and requirement tracking.
• Work with the Professional Conference Organizer, vendors, venues and service providers on logistics.
• Collaborate with ICT and Communications teams on registration platforms and event technology.
• Prepare and maintain meeting documentation, reports, briefing materials and post‑event evaluations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, International Relations, Public Health, Development Studies or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience supporting conferences, events, workshops or stakeholder engagements.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, vendors and internal teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
