Excel Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an analytical Excel Specialist to lead our data operations remotely. The role supports finance, marketing and operations teams across Africa by building advanced spreadsheet tools, automated dashboards and interactive templates.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from multiple sources using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Build dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100 % data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on using the tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines across African time zones.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA programming and macro development.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL databases and data‑visualisation principles.
