Executive Director – NGO

About the role

The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and overall management of Youth Alive! Kenya, overseeing programme delivery, resource mobilisation and the growth of its social enterprise portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy, annual plans and institutional priorities.
• Drive resource mobilisation, fundraising and income diversification to achieve financial sustainability targets.
• Provide strategic oversight of programmes and social enterprises, ensuring alignment with impact goals and robust monitoring and evaluation.
• Build and lead a high‑performing management and staff team, fostering a culture of innovation, learning and accountability.
• Represent the organisation with government, donors, investors and other strategic stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, International Relations, Law, Governance or related field.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in the non‑profit sector, including 3 years in senior leadership.
• Proven track record in resource mobilisation and building social enterprises.
• Established network of donor, government and private‑sector contacts.
