Factory Logistics Manager – Nairobi

About the role

The Factory Logistics Manager will lead warehouse operations, inventory control and supply‑chain distribution for BAT’s Nairobi manufacturing site. The role ensures logistics processes and systems, especially SAP, meet internal, statutory and BAT standards for both domestic and export markets.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure logistics processes and systems comply with internal controls, external regulations and BAT best practices.
• Manage relationships with 3PL providers, guaranteeing on‑time, full deliveries and maintaining a robust risk register and business continuity plans.
• Control logistics costs within budget, drive continuous improvement and innovation to reduce unit costs.
• Oversee storage, movement and delivery of products, including fleet management, product returns, recalls and insurance coverage.
• Maintain accurate logistics KPI dashboards, inventory accuracy and regular reporting to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Engineering or another STEM field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in supply‑chain logistics within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience running continuous‑improvement programmes such as Supply Chain Excellence or Integrated Work Systems.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced ERP expertise, particularly SAP and SAP WMS.
• High‑level data‑analysis skills using Excel and other analytics tools.
• Risk and compliance management, including Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
• Knowledge of global freight compliance and EH&S regulations.
