About the role
KKCO East Africa LLP, a leading audit and accounting firm, is seeking a Finance and Business Advisory Intern to support its advisory team. This role offers hands‑on experience in accounting, financial management and compliance for both the firm and its outsourced clients.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and prepare books of accounts using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or other accounting software, updating transactions daily.
- Prepare monthly financial management accounts and ensure regulatory compliance (NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, VAT).
- Manage petty cash, payments, procurement processes and asset registers in line with the finance manual.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure they are approved by the 10th of the following month.
- Handle billing, receipting, client account updates and support internal/external audits.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized university.
- CPA or ACCA intermediate level (or equivalent).
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work under pressure, be proactive and organized.
Required skills
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements (NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, VAT).
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping, ledger preparation and bank reconciliation.
