Finance Assistant Intern

About the role

Cytonn Asset Managers Limited is offering a three‑month Finance Assistant Internship in Nairobi. The role provides hands‑on exposure to accounting, financial operations and office administration within a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support accounts payable by preparing payments and verifying invoices.
• Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.
• Assist treasury activities, including tracking daily, weekly and monthly cash movements.
• Help monitor accounts receivable, billing and collections.
• Update financial transactions in accounting systems and assist with basic reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory deductions such as PAYE, NSSF and VAT.
• Contribute to monthly financial reports and audit documentation.
• Provide cross‑functional financial and administrative support to the business development team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Progress toward professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting systems.
