Finance Assistant

About the role

FAWE Kenya is looking for a Finance Assistant based in Nairobi (Westlands), reporting to the Finance Officer. The post supports the organization's financial needs through donor and internal reporting, transaction processing and payment handling.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare donor reports and other internal financial reporting
• Maintain financial records and process transactions, including preparing payments
• Post entries in the financial system and prepare reconciliations
• Plan short-term expenditure and remit staff and statutory payments on time
• Support audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field from a recognized institution
• CPA Part 2 qualification
• At least 2 years of experience in a busy finance environment with progressive responsibility
• Valid certificate of good conduct issued within the last 6 months

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (a must)
• Practical knowledge of QuickBooks
• Good communication, problem-solving, attention to detail and confidentiality
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and strong organizational skills
