Finance Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Finance Associate to support financial management and reporting for its Regional Office in East and Horn of Africa. The role involves assisting with budgeting, payroll, vendor management and financial data entry.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and controlling assets, reserves, funds and supplies in line with IOM regulations.
• Support the preparation of annual budget submissions, revisions and cost estimations.
• Extract and input financial data from various sources into accounting systems.
• Provide guidance on accounting, budgeting and related financial issues.
• Execute validity checks for monthly payroll and review payment requests for proper authorization.
• Create and verify vendor accounts and claims in the PRISM system.

Required profile

• High school diploma with five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field with three years of experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with SAP is an advantage.
• Attention to detail, ability to organise paperwork methodically and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Fluency in English (official IOM language) and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
