Finance Manager – Kenya

About the role

M-KOPA Kenya is seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to own the financial management of its fast‑growing fintech business. You will lead monthly reporting, IFRS compliance, treasury, and commercial analysis, shaping both strategy and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly close, including accruals, pre‑payments, intercompany, depreciation and FX.
• Produce variance analysis that separates market‑specific effects from one‑off items.
• Monitor loan book performance, analyse repayment behaviour, and own provisioning and bad‑debt trends.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting, documentation for funding, and due‑diligence processes.
• Partner with commercial teams to model unit economics, assess pricing, and build financial cases for leadership and board discussions.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CPA(K), ACCA, CA or equivalent) with senior finance management experience.
• Deep applied knowledge of IFRS, especially IFRS 9, IFRS 16, IAS 21 and revenue recognition.
• Proven ability to manage audit processes from preparation to auditor queries.
• Exceptional financial modelling and communication skills, able to build complex multi‑scenario models in Excel and present findings clearly.
