Finance Operations Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Operations Lead to oversee financial operations, statutory reporting, governance and working capital management for a multi‑entity manufacturing group. The role will manage a team of five accountants covering payables, credit control, receivables, taxation & compliance and inventory control, ensuring accurate financial records and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, prepare management accounts and board reporting packs, and ensure IFRS and statutory compliance across all entities.
• Strengthen internal control frameworks, own reconciliations, maintain ledger integrity and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Monitor debtor collections, supplier settlements, manufacturing cost allocations, inventory valuation and drive EBITDA improvement through financial analysis and cost discipline.
• Oversee timely settlement of PAYE, VAT, WHT, WVAT and other statutory obligations, implement tax law changes and manage tax audits.
• Supervise and develop the finance operations team, standardise processes, improve ERP utilisation and foster a high‑performance finance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting; professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA (FMVA, MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus).
• Minimum 8 years of finance operations experience, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG or multi‑entity environments.
• Strong grounding in IFRS, internal controls, working capital management and taxation.
• Proven people‑leadership, analytical thinking and business‑partnering skills.
