Fixed-term PLC Operator – Kenya

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a Fixed‑term PLC Operator to join its Tupande program in Kenya. The role supports the operation and maintenance of programmable logic controllers that drive agricultural equipment and processing lines across the organization’s farmer‑focused initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and adjust PLC systems to ensure optimal performance of farm machinery and processing equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and control hardware.
• Collaborate with field staff and engineers to implement process improvements and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs of system performance, maintenance activities, and incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating and maintaining PLC equipment in an agricultural or industrial setting.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems quickly.
• Willingness to work onsite in Kenya and travel to field locations as needed.
• Good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and control circuits.
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI interfaces.
• Basic preventive maintenance techniques.
