Freight Forwarding Customs Bond Clerk

About the role

ANT Automotive Logistics, a subsidiary of Africa Global Logistics (AGL) and a leading East African specialist in end-to-end automotive logistics, is hiring a Bond Clerk in Nairobi. The role reports to the Supervisor of Bond and Customs Documentation and covers bond applications, statutory letters, export verification and record keeping.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit bond applications and supporting documents at Sameer and Ardhi House, and lodge bond entries and customs documentation within required timelines.
• Follow up on bond applications, approvals, amendments, cancellations and releases, and coordinate with customs officers to resolve queries.
• Support the preparation and submission of letters to KRA, KPA, KAA, NTSA and other statutory agencies, deliver and lodge applications, appeals, waivers, refunds and other correspondence, and maintain a register of them.
• Maintain records of bond applications, export documents, approvals and follow-ups, update tracking schedules and pending-items registers, and ensure approved documents are filed and confidential information is protected.
• Facilitate clearance of Nairobi-based export consignments, coordinate with exporters, customs, transporters and warehouses, and help resolve delays or queries affecting export clearance.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding or equivalent.
• ICMS certification.
