Gender, Disability Social Inclusion & Education Advisor

About the role

The Gender, Disability Social Inclusion & Education Advisor provides technical guidance and coordination across World Vision Kenya’s programmes to ensure effective integration of gender equality, disability, social inclusion and education standards. This full‑time position is based in Nairobi and works closely with sector teams, external partners and donors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mainstreaming of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across all World Vision Kenya projects and ensure compliance with donor and international standards.
• Develop, review and implement national GEDSI approaches, assessment tools and strategic interventions for education programmes.
• Provide technical support and quality assurance for education interventions, including grant acquisition and programme design.
• Facilitate capacity building for staff and partners on GEDSI and education models.
• Coordinate advocacy, policy influencing and partnership agreements to promote GEDSI outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Gender, Education, Social Sciences or related field; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in GEDSI and education programming, including proposal development, grant management and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to work with government ministries, donors and civil society organisations.
• Strong communication skills in English and Kiswahili.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of gender mainstreaming approaches and disability inclusion frameworks.
• Experience in developing assessment tools and monitoring data analysis for GEDSI programmes.
• Budgetary and financial management competence for programme funding.
