General Manager – Bakery & Coffee Shop

About the role

The General Manager will lead Tandeli Bakery & Coffee Shop, ensuring operational excellence, profitability and outstanding customer experience. Reporting directly to the Owner/Director, you will coordinate all aspects of the bakery and café, from front‑of‑house service to production, finance and supplier relations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily bakery and café operations, coordinating front‑of‑house, production and administration.
• Manage online ordering, deliveries, customer communications and issue resolution.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, driving satisfaction and loyalty.
• Lead, motivate and develop bakery, café and administrative teams; handle recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
• Control inventory, purchasing and supplier relationships; monitor stock accuracy, wastage and cost.
• Review sales performance, prepare operational reports and support budgeting, financial planning and audits.
• Ensure product quality, presentation, freshness and compliance with food safety regulations, licences and health inspections.
• Liaise with software, payment and technology providers; oversee equipment maintenance and facility upkeep.
• Support brand standards, marketing initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency and profitability improvements.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of management experience in hospitality, food service, bakery, café or retail operations.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs and reporting.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and operational best practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
