Global Foundations Manager

About the role

Welthungerhilfe seeks a Global Foundations Manager to diversify its funding base and strengthen long‑term philanthropic partnerships. The role is based in a WHH country office in Africa and works closely with offices worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and advance strategic foundation partnership opportunities in collaboration with country offices.
• Build and manage strong foundation prospect pipelines aligned with programmatic priorities.
• Support country teams in donor outreach, engagement planning and partnership positioning.
• Develop high‑quality pitches, concept notes and proposals with technical experts.
• Facilitate exchange of best practices and market insights across offices.
• Coordinate global relationship management to ensure a coherent donor engagement strategy.
• Support due‑diligence and risk‑assessment processes for prospective partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Development Studies, Marketing or Communications preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in foundation fundraising or institutional philanthropy, preferably within an international NGO.
• Proven ability to secure six‑ and seven‑figure grants and manage long‑term donor relationships.
• Strong analytical and strategic skills to translate program data into compelling funding propositions.
• Excellent written and verbal English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with donor relationship management systems such as Salesforce or equivalent.
