Global Foundations Manager

About the role

As Global Foundations Manager you will diversify Welthungerhilfe’s funding base and strengthen long‑term philanthropic partnerships to advance the mission of Zero Hunger. The position is based in a WHH country office in Africa and works closely with offices worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and advance strategic foundation partnership opportunities together with country offices.
• Build and manage strong foundation prospect pipelines aligned with programmatic priorities.
• Support country teams in donor outreach, engagement planning and partnership positioning.
• Develop high‑quality pitches, concept notes and proposals in collaboration with technical experts.
• Coordinate globally to ensure aligned relationship management and coherent donor engagement.
• Support due‑diligence and risk‑assessment processes for prospective foundation partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in International Relations, Nonprofit Management, Development Studies, Marketing or Communications preferred.
• At least five years of progressive experience in foundation fundraising or institutional philanthropy, preferably within an international NGO.
• Proven track record securing six‑ and seven‑figure grants and managing long‑term donor relationships.
• Strong analytical and strategic skills to translate programmatic information into compelling funding propositions.
• Excellent written and verbal English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with donor relationship management systems such as Salesforce or equivalent.
