Graduate Engineering Trainee Program

About the role

Kenya Airways is offering a Graduate Engineering Trainee Program for recent engineering graduates who are passionate about aviation. The 12‑month full‑time programme combines classroom learning, on‑the‑job training and project work to develop multi‑disciplinary engineering skills in a fast‑paced airline environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend basic aircraft maintenance courses and pass required company examinations.
• Perform assigned maintenance tasks during on‑the‑job training (OJT) and support senior engineers.
• Shadow aircraft maintenance operations and ground support activities.
• Lead a group project applying project‑management processes to real‑world engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with experienced engineering teams throughout the training cycle.
• Use MRO software to support maintenance and operational activities.
• Acquaint yourself with flight operations and ground operations departments.
• Undertake additional duties and training as assigned.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Aeronautical, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• KCSE aggregate B+ with A‑minus in Mathematics, English and Physics or equivalent.
• At least upper second‑class honours (2:1) or equivalent academic standing.
• Relevant internship or academic project experience in engineering.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self‑driven, with minimal supervision and a strong desire to learn.
• Passion for Kenya Airways and the aviation sector.
